All electrical equipment installed or used in the town and all installations of electrical equipment shall be reasonably safe to persons and property and in conformity with the standards provided by the National Fire Protection Association, and with the provisions of this chapter, applicable state statutes, and any rules or regulations issued under authority thereof.

(a) 
Adopted.
There is hereby adopted by the town for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the design, quality of materials, erection, construction, installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, conversion, addition to, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all building or structures, the 2026 National Electrical Code, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, and as amended by the recommended amendments to Ordinance 2026-09 of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated herein, the same as if entirely set out at length herein, and from the date of which this section shall take effect, the provisions hereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the town. This code shall be known as the electrical code or the city electrical code.
(b) 
Amendments.
The National Electrical Code, 2026 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, and as amended by the recommendations of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and as amended by the town. Said amendments are filed in the office of the Town Secretary.
