From and after the date of this article, all business establishments, residences, public buildings, or other structures within the city shall be numbered in accordance with the system provided by the city, and shall have placed on the front (street side) of the building or structure a street number of a size and color legible enough to be seen by the public from the street in front of the building, with the minimum size of the number to be in accordance with the provisions of this article.

It shall be the duty and responsibility of all owners, reputed owners and/or occupiers of all buildings, whether used for residential, public, business, commerce, and industry in the city, to have placed thereon, in a place visible from the street in front of such building, figures in Arabic numerals or letters at least (4) inches high, showing the number of the house or building.

Any person, firm or individual failing to so number any new house, building, or other new structure built or constructed by him/her, by the date of inspection by the building inspector, shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of this article.

It shall be the duty and responsibility of all property owners, reputed owners or occupiers of existing buildings or structures, whether used for residential, public, business, commerce, and industry in the city, to display, in a conspicuous place on the building or structure, the number assigned, which shall be in Arabic numbers or letters at least (4) inches high, showing the number of the house or building.

Any person, firm or individual failing to so number any house, building, or other structure as herein described, whether owned or occupied by him/her, shall be punished as provided in accordance with the provisions of this article.

Each violation of this article shall be punishable by a fine. Each and every day the violation continues shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. Any person, firm or individual who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by fine of not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00).
