(a)
Fixed sewer rates shall be based on the consumers normal load on the wastewater collection and treatment system in both quantity and quality of wastewater generated. Wastewater customers shall be classified as follows:
(1)
S1: Residential:
Domestic purposes in individual private dwellings, duplexes, or apartments supplied at one delivery point and billed individually.
(2)
S2: Commercial:
Commercial purposes in individual business supplied at one delivery point and billed individually except for businesses that perform the following functions on site: food preparation, laundry operations, vehicle or equipment washing, or other activities that produce an excessive quantity or quality of wastewater.
(3)
S3: Heavy Commercial:
Commercial purposes in individual business supplied at one delivery point and billed individually including business that perform the following functions on site: food preparation, laundry operations, vehicle or equipment washing, or other activities that produce an excessive quantity or quality of wastewater.
(4)
SPL: Special Consumers:
Multiunit apartment structures with one delivery point, motels, governmental entities, schools, churches, and any other consumers requiring special rates.
(5)
Monthly Rate Schedule:
S1 Residential: $20.00 base rate. |
S2 Commercial low: $25.00 base rate. |
S3 Commercial high: $55.00. |
SPL: Special consumer rates shall be established on a case-by-case basis. |
A consumer charge will no longer be charged. |
(b)
Water metered through each customer’s water meter measures the water consumed by the customer. Water metered during the November, December, January, and February billing cycle of each year shall be considered the estimated water that passes through the customer’s sewer line each month of the year. The estimated water consumption will be recalculated in April of each year.
(c)
The consumer charge will recover those costs that are proportional to each user’s contribution to the wastewater collection and treatment system.
Consumer charge: $0.25 per 1,000 gallons of estimated water consumption. (Months estimated are Nov., Dec., Jan. and Feb.)
