Upon the sounding of the fire whistle of the fire department of this city, the driver of any vehicle, other than a vehicle of the aforesaid fire department, shall drive as closely as possible to the right-hand curb and stop and shall not follow within six hundred (600) feet after the vehicle or apparatus of said fire department has passed.

No vehicle, except by direction of the chief of the fire department, shall approach within six hundred (600) feet of a fire at any time.

All vehicles pertaining to the fire department of this city shall have prior right-of-way upon all the streets and avenues of this city.

It shall be unlawful for any person to carelessly, wantonly, willfully or maliciously delay any fire apparatus of this city in going to or coming from any supposed or actual fire.

It shall be unlawful for any person, within the city limits, to drive or cause to be driven, or operate or cause to be operated, any vehicle against, upon or across any fire hose, whether strung and in operation or not, or to cut, bruise or in any other manner injure any such fire hose without the consent of the fire chief shall [sic], and upon conviction, be fined.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or individual, other than an authorized agent or employee of the city while in the performance of his duties, to uncap a fire hydrant or open the valve of a fire hydrant so as to permit water to flow from [the hydrant], or to tamper with a fire hydrant so as to prevent that hydrant to work in the manner for which it was designed.
