No person shall sell alcoholic beverages within the city without first paying the appropriate fee to the city secretary and obtaining a city permit to sell alcoholic beverages at a specific location. Following payment of the fee and approval of the permit application, as set forth herein, the city secretary shall issue a permit for that location for a period of two years.

Prior to issuing a city permit to applicant for the proposed location applicant must pay the one time $50.00 application fee, and the city secretary shall certify whether the sale of alcoholic beverages at this location is not prohibited by ordinance. The city secretary shall keep a record of all permits and certificates issued under this article.

(a) 
The measurement of the distance between the place where beer, wine, or mixed beverages are sold and the church shall be along the property lines of the street fronts and from front door to front door, and in a direct line across intersections.
(b) 
The measurement of the distance between the place where beer, wine, or mixed beverages are sold and the school/child-care facility shall be in a direct line from the property of the school/child-care facility to the property line of the place of business, and in a direct line across intersections.

For all purposes related to the sale of alcoholic beverages, the city shall be considered an “extended hours area” as that term is defined in the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code section 105.06.

(a) 
The city will charge a license fee and permit fee in the amount of one-half the state license and permit fees for each permit issued for premises located within the city, except for permits that are exempt from municipal fees. These fees shall be paid to the city every two years.
(b) 
It is an offense for any person to fail to display the city license and keep the same displayed in a conspicuous place in the place of business licensed.
