The National Electrical Code, 2008 edition, of the National Fire Protection Association, and its appendixes, supplements and changes thereto as they occur, is hereby adopted as the electrical code of the city. A copy of such code will be kept in the office of the city secretary and available for public inspection at all times during regular business hours. All installations hereafter installed within the corporate limits of the city shall be done in a first-class workmanship manner in accordance with such code.

Within said code, when reference is made to the duties of a certain official named therein, that designated official of the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in said code shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of said code is concerned.
