This Part shall be known and may be cited as the "Jackson Municipal Authority Incorporation Ordinance."
It is the desire and intention of the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Jackson, a Second Class Township of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and situated in Butler County, to organize an Authority under the current Municipal Authorities Act, 53 Pa.C.S.A. §§ 5601-5623 (hereinafter referred to as the "Act"), together with all supplements thereof, and amendments thereto, for the purpose of exercising and enjoying all of the powers under the Act, and with such other powers set forth more specifically in its Articles of Incorporation and as further prescribed by law.
The proposed Articles of Incorporation in full are as follows:
A. 
The name of the Authority shall be "Jackson Municipal Authority."
B. 
The Jackson Municipal Authority is formed under the provisions of the current Municipality Authorities Act, 53 Pa.C.S.A. §§ 5601-5623 (the "Act").
C. 
No other Authority organized under the Act is in existence in or for the said incorporation municipality.
D. 
The purposes of the Authority are to exercise any and all of the powers conferred by the said Act set forth in Subsection B hereof.
E. 
The name of the incorporating municipality is the TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, and its address is 140 Magill Road, Zelienople, Pennsylvania 16063. The names and addresses of its municipal authorities are: Not Applicable.
F. 
The names, address, and terms of office of the first members of the Board of Jackson Municipal Authority are:

G. 
The Jackson Municipal Authority shall have a term of existence until the 3rd day of June, 2069, and for such further period or periods as may be provided in approved articles of amendment.
H. 
These Articles were adopted pursuant to the requirements of the Act authorized by the original incorporating governing body, the Township of Jackson, by Ordinance 2019-19-06, adopted by the Township of Jackson on June 3, 2019. Attached hereto are true and correct copies of Ordinance 2019-06 of the Township of Jackson.
The Jackson Municipal Authority shall be a body corporate and politic and shall be for the purposes of financing working capital; acquiring, holding, constructing, financing, improving, maintaining and operating, owning or leasing, either in the capacity of lessor or lessee, projects of the following kind and character, to-wit: buildings and structures to be devoted wholly or partially for public use and for revenue purposes, waterworks, water supply works, water distribution systems, storm water planning, management and implementation, and all facilities in any way used, useful, necessary, convenient, or incidental to the furtherance and operation of such projects.
The several officers of the Township are hereby authorized and directed to do and perform every lawful, requisite and convenient thing for the organization of the said Authority which is provided and authorized by the Act. Notice is therefore given by the Township of Jackson that the Articles of Incorporation of the proposed Jackson Municipal Authority will be filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the __st/th day of ______________, 2019.
