Fireworks.
Combustible or explosive compositions, or combustible or explosive devices, designed to produce visible or audible effects for amusement purposes.

No person may manufacture, sell or give away fireworks, or store, transport, possess or use fireworks within the city limits.

Any person violating any of the terms or provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined as provided in section 5.03.003 of this chapter.

Nothing in this article shall be construed to apply to the sale, storage or use of railroad track torpedoes, or other signaling devices used by railroads, or to the sale, storage or use of flashlight composition by photographers or dealers in photographic supplies, or to prevent any public or private demonstration or display of fireworks of any kind if conducted under proper police supervision after application has been made and permit issued by the chief of the fire department for such demonstration. Said permit shall not be granted unless such demonstration or display shall be of such a character, and so located, discharged or fired, as in the opinion of the chief of the fire department, after proper inspection, shall not be hazardous to property or endanger any person.
