It shall be the duty of the owner or harborer of any animal to report to the chief of police all cases of rabies with which they come in contact or to which their attention has been directed. This report shall be made immediately upon diagnosis or suspicion of said cases of rabies.

All dogs, six (6) months of age or over, within the city are required to be immunized against rabies annually by a licensed veterinarian and by means of any standard vaccine as approved by the federal government for the prevention of rabies. Upon vaccination of each dog, the veterinarian shall furnish the owner thereof a durable tag, one side of which shall be stamped with the words “Rabies Vaccine Administered” (or a similar phrase) and the date of vaccination, which shall be securely attached to a collar or harness around the neck of the dog.

The owner of a dog/cat shall provide and place on such dog/cat a collar or harness to which the vaccine tag is affixed and said owner shall see that the collar or harness with tag attached are at all times worn by said dog/cat.
