Service will be discontinued on any account at the past due date of the second month. The water meter will be removed and service discontinued until the bill and penalty are paid.
A certified or registered letter, return receipt requested, or a hand-delivered letter and notice with a signed receipt, will be sent or delivered, giving the customer a stated 30-day notice when the city utility service will be discontinued. This will be the final and last notice to the customer user, and after the 30-day notice period the city will discontinue service to the customer user.
A service charge as provided the fee schedule in appendix A of this code will be charged in addition to the total bill if the water is cut off for nonpayment or moving.
If a customer turns the meter back on after the city has turned it off, the meter will be removed, the line plugged and a reset charge as provided in the fee schedule in appendix A of this code, in addition to the total bill, will be charged.

Utility bills are not to be collected at the homes or places of business but at the office of the city secretary in the city hall.
Effective with the city utility bill in March 1971, the addition of $1.50 to the total bill for the city fire department is hereby fixed and determined.
The addition the fee shall be collected from each customer and placed in an account in the bank designated as “Calvert Fire Dept. Fund, City of Calvert.”
Monies collected and placed in the city fire department fund shall be used only for the maintenance of the fire trucks, equipment and construction of the new fire station building.
