All electrical equipment installations made within the city shall conform to the National Electric Code, 2017 edition.

In addition to the requirements set out in section 4.02.161, all installations of electrical equipment made within the city shall be so made that the same will be in safe condition and shall be so made in conformity with the provisions of this division and the applicable statutes of the state and all orders, rules and regulations issued by authority thereof.

If equipment and installations meet the requirements set out in section 4.02.161 and conform with all applicable regulations set forth in the National Electrical Code and in the National Electrical Safety Code, such shall be prima facie evidence that such installations are in safe condition.

Thin type breakers, commonly known to the trade as wafer breakers, being designed for limited use in rewire jobs, will not be used on new installations. At no time will the total circuit breaker rating exceed the designed capacity of the panel.
