(a)
Discharge prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to fire, discharge, or shoot any gun, pistol, rifle or any other firearm, or any air rifle or air pistol, within the city.
(b)
Exceptions.
(1)
The provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall not be applicable to the discharge of any firearm when used on the property of the owner and in defense of person or property located thereon, or by peace officers in the discharge of their duties.
(2)
Subsection (a) of this section shall not apply to prohibit the discharge of firearms at the firearm range located at the National Guard Armory Building in the city or at the skeet and trap firearm range, also located in the city, while under organized supervision at these locations and subject to the rules and regulations applicable to each location and range.
