The board of directors for the economic development corporation
shall consist of seven (7) members who reside within the city limits
or its extraterritorial jurisdiction ("ETJ"). No more than one (1)
of the directors may be elected city officials, and no more than one
of the directors may reside within the city's ETJ. Board members
who are also members of the city council may not serve as an officer
of the corporation unless the appointment is approved by the city
council. Appointees shall fill positions that shall be designated
by place numbers (e.g., place 1, place 2, etc.). Vacancies shall be
filled for the unexpired term of any member whose place becomes vacant
for any cause in the same manner as the original appointment was made.
