A.
Composition, mode of appointment, term of office. There shall be established an Open Space Committee composed of 10 members to be appointed as follows:
(1)
Chairperson or designee of Planning Board.
(2)
Chairperson or designee of Conservation Commission.
(3)
Chairperson or designee of Parks and Recreation Commission.
(4)
Chairperson or designee of Board of Selectmen.
(5)
Six citizens appointed by the Board of Selectmen. (The six citizen members shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve staggered three-year terms.
B.
Powers and duties. The Open Space Committee shall be responsible for the identification and preparation of proposals for Town Meeting of properties to be acquired for open space and/or recreational use. The Open Space Committee shall also consider alternative methods for open space preservation, including but not limited to grants, donations, and conservation easements.
