Garage sale.
Occasional sales of personal or household property to the general public involving the offering for sale of multiple items of personal property on property occupied as a residence, to include but not to be limited to, garage sales, patio sales, yard sales, driveway sales, rummage sales and the like.

The purpose of this article is to regulate, restrict and control sales as outlined in Article 14.10.001 conducted on residential premises within the city.

(a) 
A garage sale shall not be conducted on any residential lot or tract in the city on more than three (3) consecutive calendar days or two (2) consecutive weekends.
(b) 
A garage sale shall be conducted only during the hours between seven o'clock (7:00) a.m. and six o'clock (6:00) p.m. No sale items shall be left out for display later than seven o'clock (7:00) p.m. on any day.
(c) 
A garage sale shall not be conducted on any residential lot or tract in the city on more than two weekends in any twelve (12) month period, excepting city-sponsored or community events.
(d) 
The sale shall be conducted without the use of outdoor voice amplification systems, such as Public Address (PA) Systems, or illuminated advertising devices.
(e) 
No signs shall be posted anywhere in the city advertising such sales; except that the property owner may install on the residential lot on which such sale is to be held one (1) sign not larger than two (2) feet by three (3) feet advertising such sale. Such sign shall be erected not sooner than one (1) day prior to the date of the sale and shall be removed at the end of each weekend the sale is held.
(f) 
No sale items shall be located and no activities shall be conducted on a public sidewalk, parkway area or other public property. Sale items shall be located within the property lines and not encroach into the right-of-way (ROW). This section is not subject to section 30.04.001(27) regarding open-air display.

Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense.
