A violation of articles 3.01 through 3.08 shall be a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Each violation shall be considered a separate punishable offense.

A person who violates article 3.09 and any other applicable state law is liable for a civil penalty of not less than two hundred dollars ($200.00) and not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) with respect to each animal constituting a violation and for each day a violation occurs.
