The judge or recorder of the municipal court shall hereafter
be appointed by the city council for a term of two (2) years to run
concurrent with the term of the mayor.

All bona fide residents of the city who are over the age of
twenty-one (21) years shall be qualified to hold the office of judge
of the municipal court.

The term of the first judge appointed pursuant to this article
shall commence with his appointment and end with the expiration of
the mayor's present term of office. All appointees hereunder shall
hold said office for the term to which they are appointed and thereafter
until their successors have been appointed and qualified.
