A temporary service connection may be maintained for not more than six months unless the Town grants an extension of time.

The charge for water served through a temporary service connection is the charge for water served to consumers outside the Town.

The applicant for temporary service shall:
A. 
Pay in advance the estimated cost of installation and removal of all facilities necessary to furnish service;
B. 
Deposit an amount sufficient to cover bills for water during the period temporary service will be used or otherwise establish credit;
C. 
Deposit with the Town an amount equal to the value of equipment loaned by the Town to the applicant for use on the temporary service;
D. 
Pay for repairs to facilities damaged by the customer.

If temporary service is supplied through a fire hydrant, the applicant shall obtain permission from the Public Works Department. No person may operate the valve of a fire hydrant except by the use of special equipment designed for this purpose.
