A.
The Town annually shall solicit applications from eligible individuals to serve as a junior member on a Town committee.
B.
The Town Council may appoint one junior member to each committee.
C.
As long as a junior member serves on a committee, total membership of the committee is increased by one member and the junior member may be counted towards a quorum.
D.
A committee junior member may vote, except for the junior member of the Board of Supervisors of Elections, who may not vote.
E.
Except as otherwise provided by law, a junior member may participate in activities of the committee to the same extent as other committee members.
A.
An individual must be a resident of the Town of Indian Head and a sophomore or junior student at a public, private or parochial high school or a home-schooled student, and less than 18 years of age, to be eligible to serve as a junior member of a committee.
B.
A committee junior member serves a one-year term from August 1 through July 30, or until the member no longer is eligible to serve. A committee junior member is eligible for reappointment to successive terms as long as the member remains eligible to serve.
C.
The Town Council may fill a vacancy for the duration of current term.
D.
The Town Council may remove a committee junior member with or without cause.
