The City of Costa Mesa desires to participate in the public safety dispatcher program established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) pursuant to California Penal Code section 13510 and to receive aid for certain training costs from the State of California under the provisions of Penal Code Sections 13520 et seq.

The City of Costa Mesa pledges that it shall adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as required for participation in the public safety dispatcher program.

The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the commission to ascertain that the city's public safety dispatcher personnel adhere to the standards referenced in section 14-75.

Should the City of Costa Mesa decide that it is within its best interests to withdraw from the public safety dispatcher program, the city may exercise such option in accordance with procedures for withdrawal established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
