The noise standard presented herein are aimed at controlling the intrusion of excessive noise within interior living spaces, from either exterior-to-interior or unit-to-unit pathways (in the case of multi-family dwellings). Such sound insulation features are to be designed by architects and engineers for each applicable interior space, and included in plans submitted to the city of Hawthorne building and safety department as part of its review and approval processes.
