The Uniform Housing Code, 1997 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, one copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the Housing Code for the City for the protection of the public health and safety in and for the City and is hereby referred to and by this reference expressly incorporated in this chapter and made a part of this chapter as though set forth in this chapter at length. Subject to the additions, deletions and amendments set forth in this chapter, said Housing Code is hereby established and adopted, and the same shall be known, designated, and referred to as the "Housing Code" for the City.

Section 203 of said Housing Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 203. Board of Appeals. Appeals from any order, notice and order, decision or determination made by the City's Chief Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the Uniform Housing Code shall be heard by the Board of Appeals, established and administered pursuant to Section 2-20.01, et seq., Chapter 20, Title 2 of the Redondo Beach Municipal Code.

Section 204 of said Housing Code is hereby amended to read:
Section 204. Violations and Penalties. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code.
The penalty for any violation, upon the conviction of any violation, shall be a fine of not more than One Thousand and no/100ths ($1,000.00) Dollars, or imprisonment in a County Jail for a period not exceeding six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
