It is unlawful for any minor under the age of 18 years to be in or on any public street, or road, park, square, or any public place between the hours of ten p.m., and daylight immediately following, except where the said minor is accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or where the presence of the minor in the place or places is connected with or required by some legitimate business, trade, profession or occupation, by reason of employment, inclusive of time necessary for going to and returning from such place of business in which the minor is engaged.

Each owner, agent, manager or keeper of a hotel, boarding house, lodging house, tenement house, motor court, or apartment house, shall immediately report to the city police department the presence therein of any and all minors under the age of 18 years, unless such minor or minors is or are accompanied by the parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of such minor or minors, and in making such report shall state to the police department, the name, age, last-known place of abode, the names and residences of the parents, guardian, or other custodian of such minor or minors, so far as such information can be ascertained from the minor or minors or otherwise.

It is unlawful within the incorporated areas of the city for any proprietor, keeper, clerk or any other person, having charge or control of any café, tavern, restaurant, bar, eating place, or public dance hall to permit any person under the age of 18 years to remain in said public place between the hours of ten p.m., and daylight immediately following unless such person is accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult person, having the care and custody of such minor.

Save and except reports required of managements of hotels, boarding houses, tenement houses, motor courts or apartments, Section 9.12.030, the foregoing provisions shall not apply on Friday and Saturday nights, where the minor dealt with is attending a bona fide meeting, dance, or party at church, school, or youth club, or a theater, provided that on Friday and Saturday nights it is unlawful for the minor to be upon any public street, or road, park, square or public place between the hours of twelve midnight and daylight immediately following, except where the minor is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or an adult person having the care and custody of the minor.

A. 
Whenever a minor is arrested for violation herein the office of the probation officer of the county shall be notified, and a copy of the arrest report, setting forth the circumstances of the arrest of the minor, shall be forwarded to the office of the probation officer.
B. 
Any adult person who shall violate any of the provisions herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $500, and if such fine be not paid, by imprisonment in the county jail of the county for a period of one day for each $2 of the fine. Any minor who shall violate any of the provisions herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the provisions of Chapter 2, Division 2, of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state.
