Every person who, within the corporate limits of the City of
Plymouth, purchases any gold quartz, gold bullion, gold amalgam, or
quartz, rock or mineral containing gold, from any person whom the
buyer does not personally know, unless the seller is identified for
the buyer by one who is personally known to the buyer, or who fails
to make diligent inquiry of the seller as to the place where or the
person from whom the seller obtained such property, and to enter in
a register, which shall be kept by the buyer for that purpose, in
the English language, the date of each purchase, an accurate description
of the property purchased, a definite description of the place where
or the person from whom the seller states he or she obtained said
property, and the name and place of residence of the seller, and,
if the seller is not personally known to the buyer, the name and place
of residence of the person by whom the seller is identified, or who
fails, upon demand, to exhibit such register and the records therein
to any peace officer, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Every person who, within the corporate limits of the City of
Plymouth, sells any gold quartz, gold bullion, gold amalgam, or quartz,
rock or mineral containing gold, who willfully misstates any fact
in giving the buyer information as to the place where, or the person
from whom the seller obtained the property sold, shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor.

Every person who, within the corporate limits of the City of
Plymouth, identifies the seller of any gold quartz, gold bullion,
gold amalgam, or quartz, rock or mineral containing gold, for the
buyer thereof, when the seller is not personally known to the one
making identification, or who willfully makes any false statement
in making such identification, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Every person violating any of the provisions of this chapter
shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300, or by imprisonment
in the County Jail for not more than three months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
