A.
All streets within the city as appearing, described and named in the maps and profiles of tracts recorded in the office of the county recorder are declared to be public highways of and within the city, and the names of such highways and public streets as thereon shown and named shall be the same as set forth in those maps and profiles of tracts; except, that:
1.
To and as a part of the name of each such street or avenue lying east of Euclid Street (formerly Hiatt Street) shall be affixed the prefix "East";
2.
To the portion of such street lying west of Euclid Street (formerly Hiatt Street) shall be affixed the prefix "West";
3.
As a part of the name of the street or avenue lying south of La Habra Boulevard (formerly Central Avenue) shall be affixed thereto the prefix "South"; and
4.
To the portion of such street lying north of La Habra Boulevard (formerly Central Avenue) shall have affixed thereto the prefix "North."
B.
The portion of highway comprising the intersection of Euclid Street and La Habra Boulevard shall be named East La Habra Boulevard east of the centerline of Euclid Street, extended across La Habra Boulevard and that portion west of the centerline shall be designated West La Habra Boulevard.
C.
All streets to be opened after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this section shall bear like prefixes of "East," "West," "South" or "North," respectively, as those set out in this section, from the points designated in this section.
