No person shall drive or operate any vehicle having a maximum gross weight in excess of three tons on the following streets or portions thereof in the city:
(1) 
Sunset Ridge Drive between its intersection with Ledroit Street and the northwesterly boundary of Subdivision Tract No. 1100, as recorded in Book 35, pages 32—34, inclusive, Miscellaneous Maps, official records of Orange County;
(2) 
Hillcrest Drive between its intersection with Louise Street and the northwesterly boundary of Subdivision Tract No. 1100, as recorded in Book 35, pages 32—34, inclusive, Miscellaneous Maps, official records of Orange County;
(3) 
The 200 block of Forest Avenue between South Coast Highway and Glenneyre Street;
(4) 
Alta Vista Way.

No person shall drive or operate any vehicle having a maximum gross weight in excess of five tons on Upland Road between South Coast Highway and Glenneyre Street or on Third Street between Park and Mermaid.

The following types of vehicles shall be exempt from the maximum gross weight limitations specified in Section 10.12.010:
(1) 
Authorized emergency vehicles used in combating and suppressing fires;
(2) 
Vehicles owned by any public utility or governmental agency or a licensed contractor while necessarily in use in the construction, installation or repair of any public utility or public work;
(3) 
Vehicles used for the purpose of collecting trash or garbage from premises located on a restricted street;
(4) 
Commercial vehicles coming from an unrestricted street having ingress and egress by direct route to and from a restricted street when necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted street or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide demolition, repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted street for which a demolition or building permit has previously been obtained;
(5) 
Vehicles used for the purpose of moving household furniture and appliances to or from buildings or structures located on a restricted street.
