Pursuant to Section 50022.2 of the Government Code of the state of California, there is adopted by reference by the city council, for the purpose of prescribing a just, equitable and practicable method to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by the building code, housing code or otherwise available at law, whereby buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants may be required to be repaired, vacated or demolished that certain primary code known as the “Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition,” published by the International Conference of Building Officials, excepting such other portions as are deleted, modified or amended in this chapter, and said code is adopted by reference and incorporated as though fully set forth in this chapter, and the same shall be designated and referred to as the “Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings” of the city.
