City of Waterford, CA Chapter 8.20 SIDEWALK OBSTRUCTIONS

§ 8.20.010 Mailboxes—Location—Sidewalk obstruction prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to place a mailbox or any other obstruction on the sidewalks in any residential area of Waterford. The mailboxes should be placed in the utility strip between the sidewalk and the property line.

§ 8.20.020 Mailboxes—Relocation—City to move when.

Any person, firm or corporation who now has a mailbox sitting on the sidewalk, has fifteen days from May 2, 1988, the date of adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, to remove it. If after the expiration of fifteen days and the mailbox or obstruction has not been removed by the owner, the city shall remove the mailbox or obstruction.

§ 8.20.030 Violation—Penalty.

Any persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars and no more than one year in jail.
