Any person, firm or corporation who now has a mailbox sitting on the sidewalk, has fifteen days from May 2, 1988, the date of adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, to remove it. If after the expiration of fifteen days and the mailbox or obstruction has not been removed by the owner, the city shall remove the mailbox or obstruction.

Any persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars and no more than one year in jail.
