This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Administrative Code of the Township of Upper Providence, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania."
The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the responsibilities and authority of the various officers, administrative personnel and units within the government of the Township of Upper Providence and to set forth certain authorities, policies and procedures as the basic body of administrative practice and procedure. This chapter does not supersede any applicable state or federal authority covering any issue addressed in this chapter.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
The function of implementing the policies, ordinances or resolutions of the Board of Supervisors.
The function of gathering research, compiling facts and making informed recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, the Township Manager or as otherwise designated by ordinance or resolution.
The elected five-member Board of Supervisors of Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
The Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors.
One of the major organizational divisions of the executive branch of Township government which is charged with a specific set of public service activities, duties, or operational responsibilities.
All senior personnel in those units within the Township government under the authority of the Township Manager.
All applicable statutes of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
All local laws or regulations enacted by the Board of Supervisors.
The Township of Upper Providence, County of Montgomery, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Chief Executive Officer of Upper Providence Township.
