Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the county is guilty of a misdemeanor or infraction as delineated in the appropriate ordinance or chapter.

Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the County, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of Merced County shall be punished by a fine of not more than One thousand dollars or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by such fine and imprisonment.

Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the County, any person convicted of an infraction under the ordinances of Merced County shall be punished by (1) a fine not exceeding One hundred dollars for the first violation; (2) a fine not exceeding Two hundred dollars for the second violation of this chapter within one year; (3) a fine not exceeding Five hundred dollars for each additional violation of this chapter within one year.

Each person is guilty of a separate offense each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of the County is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and any such person shall be punished accordingly.
