It shall be unlawful for anyone to park, stop, or stand any vehicle upon any portion of any County roadway which has been marked or posted "NO PARKING" by the Road Commissioner of the County of Merced upon the authority of the Board of Supervisors of said County.

Pursuant to § 22503 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, it is permitted and authorized for vehicles to be parked at an angle or diagonally on County road rights-of-way, within parking stalls marked on the road surface that have been applied by the County, in the following designated areas:
A. 
Winton unincorporated area, on both sides of Winton Way between Hall Street and Santa Fe Drive;
B. 
Planada unincorporated area, on the south side of the south lane of Broadway between Sutter Street and Fremont Street.

A. 
It is prohibited to park or leave standing on any street, or portion thereof, in a residential district any commercial vehicle, as defined in § 260 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, having a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more. However, this prohibition shall not be effective with respect to any commercial vehicle making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted streets or highways or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted streets or highways for which a building permit has previously been obtained. This section is adopted pursuant to the provisions of California Vehicle Code § 22507.5.
B. 
The said parking restriction shall apply to any street or portion thereof within any residence district as defined in § 515 of the Vehicle Code and any area designated with residential zoning in accordance with Merced County Zoning Code.
C. 
This prohibition is effective whether or not signs have been posted. However, signs indicating the prohibition may be placed where additional emphasis seems to be necessary at the discretion of the Director of Public Works.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction and shall be punishable as provided in Division 17 (commencing with § 40000.1) and Division 18 (commencing with § 42000) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California.
