The City elects to be governed by the provisions of Sections 2080 through 2080.9 of the Civil Code with respect to the disposition of personal property found or saved on property subject to its jurisdiction. The City or its agency involved shall hold such unclaimed property for a period of at least three months, and thereafter such property will be sold at public sale to the highest bidder. Notice of such sale shall be given by the concerned department of the City at least five days before the time fixed for the sale by publication once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county in which such property was found.
