The Corporate Seal of the City is hereby adopted and is described as follows: Around the margin of the seal within the boundaries of two concentric circles are the words "City of Artesia" and "State of California". Inside the smaller of the two concentric circles is a shield, at the center of which, is the letter "A". Above the shield is a dove with mountains in the background and a spinning top or globe above the dove. The interior of the shield is divided into four quadrants which, from upper right and following in clockwise order, depict: (i) recreational games of tennis, volleyball and running; (ii) a traditional Dutch colonial style church with a steeple; (iii) a residence with trees in the foreground and background; and (iv) a five-story building. At the bottom of the shield are the words: "Incorporated 1959". The Seal shall correspond with substantially the following:
