The Corporate Seal of the City is hereby adopted and is described as follows: Around the margin of the seal within the boundaries of two concentric circles are the words "City of Artesia" and "State of California". Inside the smaller of the two concentric circles is a shield, at the center of which, is the letter "A". Above the shield is a dove with mountains in the background and a spinning top or globe above the dove. The interior of the shield is divided into four quadrants which, from upper right and following in clockwise order, depict: (i) recreational games of tennis, volleyball and running; (ii) a traditional Dutch colonial style church with a steeple; (iii) a residence with trees in the foreground and background; and (iv) a five-story building. At the bottom of the shield are the words: "Incorporated 1959". The Seal shall correspond with substantially the following:

The official City stationery is hereby adopted and is described as follows: An eight and one-half inch by eleven inch (8½ x 11) piece of paper containing a copy of the City Seal in the upper left hand corner approximately one and one-quarter (1¼) inches in diameter. Underneath the seal are the words "Service Builds Tomorrow's Progress". The words "THE CITY OF ARTESIA, CALIFORNIA" are centered approximately one and one-half (1½) inches from the top of the page between two horizontal lines, which lines extend to the left edge of the page, behind the Seal, and to right edge of the page, underneath which and located flush to the right margin of the paper are three lines of text as follows: (i) "18747 CLARKDALE AVENUE, ARTESIA, CALIFORNIA 90701"; (ii) Telephone 562/865-6262; and (iii) FAX 562/865-6240. The top portion of the official City stationery shall correspond with substantially the following:

It is unlawful to place the City Seal or to use official City stationery or any copy, facsimile, imitation or reproduction thereof on any written or printed material supporting or opposing any candidate or candidates for any elective public office or any local or statewide referendum, initiative or other ballot measure, except upon the approval of the City Council whether or not such placement or use is intended to, is likely to, or actually does, confuse, mislead or deceive as to the City's endorsement, approval, or generation of the material.

No person shall place any imitation of the City Seal on any written or printed material or use official City stationery or any copy, facsimile, imitation or reproduction thereof, in a manner which is designed, calculated, intended or likely to confuse, deceive or mislead the public or cause the reader of such written or printed material to believe it to be an official City publication or letter or otherwise endorsed, approved, or generated by the City, and no person shall circulate or distribute any such written or printed material in the City of Artesia. The placement or use prohibited by this section includes, but is not limited to, placement or use in written or printed material supporting or opposing any candidate(s) for any public office or any local or statewide referendum, initiative or ballot measure.
