Monuments shall be set at all accessible angle points and points of tangency in the boundary of the subdivisions, at the intersection of all street lines with the subdivision boundaries, at all street intersections at the beginning and ending of curves of the monument lines, and at other locations that may be specified by the City Engineer. In no case shall there be fewer than two monuments on any exterior subdivision boundary line nor fewer than two street monuments in any street. Street monuments shall be set on centerlines or offset as directed by the City Engineer.

Permanent street monuments shall be firmly set and shall not be less substantial than concrete posts six inches in diameter by thirty inches in length at least six inches below grade with a cast iron cover set flush with the finished grade and supported independently of the monument. Where monuments are not set in improved streets or highways, three-fourths-inch iron pipes shall be installed. The exact survey point shall be accurately marked on a brass marker with a two and one-half-inch shank in improved streets or a copper dowel not less than two and one-half inches long.

Permanent and accurate bench marks based on datum specified in writing by the City Engineer for each subdivision shall be filed with the City Engineer.

Corners and curve points of all lots in a subdivision shall be marked by hubs at least one of which shall be identified by the number of the registered engineer or land surveyor surveying the subdivision, which number shall be legibly stamped on the back or attached noncorrosive metal tag. Cross marks in the curb may be substituted for front line hubs. When the lot corner hubs are within the area affected by street improvement work, they may be marked by offset hubs. When fences are to be installed by subdivider, rear corner hubs may be eliminated.
