It shall be the responsibility of the subdivider to make the necessary arrangements with the serving electric utility for the installation of a street lighting system to be provided at the lowest applicable rate available to the City. Such street lighting facilities shall normally be designed to provide illumination intensities which are in accord with current illuminating Engineering Society recommendations and as approved by the City Engineer.

Adequate lighting shall be provided in all subdivisions along streets, paths, and other pedestrian or vehicular ways. An agreement to so provide by the subdivider shall be accomplished prior to acceptance of a final map.

Wherever existing trees or other plants are to be preserved within the street right-of-way, street lighting standards shall be carefully located in such a manner as to receive minimum interference from such trees or plants.
