Pursuant to Article 2A of Chapter I, Part 2 of Division 1 of the state Health and Safety Code, this city may contract with the county to secure the services of the County Health Officer as City Health Officer.

The general powers of the Health Officer shall be to enforce all laws and ordinances relating to the protection and promotion of public health and sanitation in this city.

It shall be the duty of the Health Officer and it shall be lawful for him or her to enter and inspect any place in the city in the performance of the duties set out in this chapter.

No person shall refuse, resist, or attempt to resist, the entrance of the Health Officer into any place he or she is authorized to enter or refuse to obey any lawful order of the Health Officer made in the performance of his or her duties within the powers conferred on him or her by this code or the laws of this state.

By virtue of his or her office and pursuant to Division 9 of the State Health and Safety Code, the Health Officer shall act as local registrar and shall perform all duties of such office described by said Division 9 and as may otherwise be prescribed by law or ordinance.
