This chapter is enacted pursuant to Section 36516 of the Government Code, as added by Chapter 286 of the Statutes of 1965, authorizing the Council to provide by ordinance that each member of the Council receive a prescribed salary the amount of which is based upon the population of the City as determined by estimates made by the State Department of Finance.

As of February 16, 1966, the latest estimate of population of the City made by the Department of Finance is 2,276.

Each member of the City Council shall receive, as salary, the sum of $656.37 per month, which shall be payable at the same time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the City.

The salaries prescribed in Section 2.08.030 are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the Council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him or her in the performance of official duties for the City.

The salary for the City Treasurer, as compensation of all services and duties performed as City Treasurer, whether imposed by virtue of any law, ordinance or resolution, is such sum as the City Council may establish from time to time by resolution.
