A.
No person shall park a commercial vehicle exceeding 10,000 pounds in gross weight (vehicle and load) on any street within 150 feet of an intersection or private driveway, where appropriate signs are installed by the City Engineer, except when necessary to make pickups or deliveries of goods, wares or merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the property adjacent to the place where the commercial vehicle is parked, or to deliver materials to be used in the repair, remodeling or other construction of any building or structure, for which construction a City permit has been obtained.
B.
This chapter does not apply to school or passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, to commercial vehicles owned by a public utility or a licensed contractor when in use in the construction, installation or repair of any public utility, to any vehicle which is subject to the provisions of Sections 1031 through 1036 of the Public Utilities Code, or to any vehicle operated under a permit granted by the City Engineer.
