(a)
It is the intent of an O-S district:
(1)
To provide for the long-range preservation of designated areas of public, quasi-public and private lands in open space for the health, safety and welfare of the public;
(2)
To prohibit the construction, enlargement or encroachment of any existing or proposed structure, mobile home improvements, or developments of any kind that would, by their very construction, enlargement or establishment, diminish the existing natural open space values of such areas to the general public;
(3)
To establish reasonable regulations and standards to assure maximum retention of natural amenities;
(4)
For the long-range preservation for future generations of appropriate natural open space areas.
(b)
The O-S, open space zone may be applied to various public, quasi-public and private lands deemed necessary to accomplish the purposes stated above.
