The City Council adopts by reference, the Uniform Housing Code, 1997 Edition, copyright 1997 by the International Conference of Building Officials, and said Uniform Housing Code is adopted in total as the law of the City except as provided by this chapter. One copy of the code has been and now is filed in the office of the City Building Official, and the code is adopted by reference as if incorporated and set out at length in this chapter.

A. 
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued, or permitted, and each such offense shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
In addition, this code may be enforced by injunction or other appropriate civil remedy.
