For the purpose of prescribing regulations for electrical equipment construction, alteration, repair, improving, conversion and demolition, the following construction code, subject to the modifications set forth in this chapter, is hereby adopted: the California Electrical Code, 2025 Edition, based on the 2023 National Electrical Code as published by the National Fire Protection Association.

310.3(B) Conductor Material is revised to add a second paragraph to read as follows:
Copper wire shall be used for wiring No. 6 and smaller in all installations. Consideration for use of aluminum wiring can be made by the Building Official for feeder lines only on an individual basis where adequate safety measures can be ensured.
690.13(A) Location is revised to read as follows:
The means to disconnect a photovoltaic and electrical energy storage system shall be installed at a readily accessible location on the exterior of the building. A visible-open, lockable AC disconnect shall be located within three feet of the meter, photovoltaic disconnect, or as required by the Building or Fire Code Official.

A. 
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued, or permitted, and each such offense shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
In addition, this code may be enforced by injunction or other appropriate civil remedy.
