The community development/resource agency is created. The purpose of the agency is to provide planning and direction over those county functions that provide land use planning, management of natural resources, building, inspection and code enforcement services, and other permit and land use services to the citizens of Placer County. The agency includes divisions of engineering and surveying, planning, and building.

The director, community development/resource agency is vested with the authority and responsibility to plan, budget, organize, direct and control the activities of the agency including those related to land uses and resource planning, infrastructure planning, management of natural resources, building, permit and construction. The director is appointed by and receives administrative direction from the county executive officer and exercises direct supervision over division heads of the agency and over other assigned management and supervisory personnel.

The functions of the county surveyor shall be performed within the community development/resource agency by the deputy director of engineering and surveying or designee. The deputy director, or designee, shall be a licensed land surveyor or a registered civil engineer (registered prior to January 1, 1982) having a California registration and appointed to the position, according to law, by the board of supervisors.

A. 
A fee for reviewing and approving record of survey maps of $300 per map for the first two sheets and $100 per sheet for each sheet thereafter shall be paid at the time of map submittal.

This fee is subject to cost adjustment each July 1st as specified in Ord. 2826, enacted August 19, 1980.

Control Subdivisions. Control, inspect and define standards for subdivision development.
B. 
Administer Technical Codes. Administer the various codes and ordinances as adopted by the board of supervisors and planning commission.
