It shall be unlawful for any person, business or entity to use the 911 emergency service for the purpose of eliciting a response from the police department, fire department, or EMS in the absence of an actual police, fire and/or medical emergency.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.
Notice of the violation shall be given to the person(s) residing on such premises or, in the case of a cellular device, the registered owner of the cell phone number. In the case of a business premises, the owner, manager, or agent employed or on the premises at the time of the occurrence of the violation shall be presumed to be the person to whom notice shall be given.
