In order to provide the City of Fennville with a more efficient, effective and responsible government, there is hereby created the administrative office of City Administrator for the City of Fennville.
The City Administrator shall be appointed on the basis of merit with due regard to training, experience, administrative ability and general fitness for the office. Except as otherwise provided in the Charter or by the laws of the state, the City Administrator, as with all administrative officers of the City, shall be appointed by the Commission for an indefinite period, shall serve at the pleasure of the Commission, and shall have their compensation fixed by the Commission.
The position will be responsible in promoting the City's strategic goals, including financial stability, economic development and efficient administration of government services. The City Administrator will be responsible for the supervision of various City personnel under the guidance of the appropriate Commission Committee members. In addition, the City Administrator will be responsible for carrying out the various responsibilities outlined within the most recent job description approved the City Personnel Committee.
