It is unlawful for any person to interfere with gates, ropes, lines and other appliances in position for protecting street paving, or street repair work, or to go upon or travel over street paving or street repair work when gates, ropes, lines and other appliances are in position for the protection of such street construction or repair work when such work is being carried on and before the completion thereof, and any person who shall at any time remove, pass through or destroy any gates, ropes, lines or other appliances in position for protecting street paving or street repair work, or who shall go upon or travel over street paving or street repair work while street surfaces or any part thereof are under construction or repair with gates, ropes, lines and other appliances for protecting the same in position, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
