Except as provided in this chapter, the International Property
Maintenance Code, 2021 Edition, as published by the California Building
Standards Commission, shall be and become the Property Maintenance
Code of the City, regulating and governing the safeguarding of life
and property by establishing minimum requirements to provide a reasonable
level of health, safety, property protection and general welfare insofar
as they are affected by the continued occupancy and maintenance of
structures and premises.
