A. 
"Garage sale" means and includes the retail sale of new, used, or secondhand goods or merchandise in connection with a dwelling unit on property within any unincorporated area of Stanislaus County. "Garage sale" includes yard sales, moving sales, patio sales, and similar uses and activities wherein new, used, or secondhand goods or merchandise are sold, treated, bartered, or exchanged.

No garage sale shall be conducted upon the same premises for more than three consecutive days or on more than two separate occasions within one calendar year.

No person conducting a garage sale may use more than two unlighted signs not exceeding three square feet in area. Garage sale signs shall be displayed only on private property with the consent of the owner thereof and only during such times as the garage sale is actually being conducted.

Every person violating or failing or neglecting or refusing to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter, shall be deemed guilty of an infraction, punishable as set forth in Section 1.36.020.
