The city adopts by reference the California Electrical Code,
2022 Edition, which contains substantial copyrighted material from
the 2020 National Electrical Code, which is a copyrighted work owned
by the National Fire Protection Association; and said code is adopted
in total as the law of the city. One copy of the code has been, and
is now, filed in the office of the building official, and the code
is adopted by reference as if incorporated and set out in full in
this chapter.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this code, all electrical
services shall be installed underground from the utility company pole
to the service panel of the premises served.
Exception. When, because of unusual or unique circumstances,
strict compliance with the requirements of this section would be impractical
or would create a severe hardship, the city council, on receipt of
a written request from the property owner or his or her agent, may
waive this requirement.

Fees for the issuance of electrical permits, plan reviews and
investigation fees for work done without permits shall be established
by resolution of the city council.
