For purposes of this Chapter, the abbreviation "G.I.S" shall
mean and may be substituted for the terminology "Geographic Information
System."

The Public Works Department, under the authority of the Public
Works Director, may develop, implement and maintain a geographic information
system primarily for the use of the various agencies and departments
of the City of Inglewood and, if authorized by the Public Works Director
or designee, for the limited use of other persons or entities, both
public and private. Such information system shall be made up of digital
data, electronically created, collected, formatted, manipulated or
otherwise maintained by the City of Inglewood.

Any person, agent or entity that requests or otherwise obtains
G.I.S. data shall acknowledge and/or be apprised that such data is
not a legally recorded map, survey or legal document, that such data
may contain errors or omissions, that G.I.S data is subject to subsequent
revision, that G.I.S. data is for general reference use only, and
that such person, agent or entity shall not solely rely on G.I.S.
data for technical precision. Furthermore, said person, agent or entity
shall acknowledge and/or be apprised that the City has provided the
G.I.S. data on an "as is" basis and the City makes no representations,
guarantees or warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of
such data whatsoever, and that the City expressly disclaims any and
all liability of any nature arising out of the use of such data.

G.I.S. data and services are provided to any officer, agent,
contractor and department of the City of Inglewood without additional
charges or fees for such data or services. G.I.S. data and services
shall be provided to any other person, agency or entity subject to
receipt by the City of specific charges or fees. The Public Works
Director shall maintain a list of said charges and fees for the various
G.I.S. products, publications and services, said list being subject
to periodic revision and approval by City Council resolution. The
Public Works Director, or designee, may waive the collection of charges
or fees from non-profit organizations, educational institutions, other
governmental agencies and for comparable special considerations.
