The 2022 California Mechanical Code, and whole thereof, including Appendices A, B, and C, except as hereinafter provided but excluding Chapters 1 and 14 thereof (codified in Part 4 of Title
24 of the
California Code of Regulations), as published by the International Code Council and the California Building Standards Commission, is hereby adopted by reference, subject to the amendments, deletions or additions set forth in this chapter and incorporated in the Huntington Beach Building and Construction Code.
Such code, and amendments thereto, are hereby adopted and incorporated,
pursuant to California
Government Code Section 50022.2 et seq., and
Health and Safety Code Section 18941.5, as fully as though set forth
at length herein, for the purpose of protecting public health and
safety by prescribing by minimum standards for the use, design and
installation of heating, ventilating, comfort-cooling equipment and
refrigeration systems; by requiring a permit and inspection for the
installation, alteration and replacement of said equipment. From the
date on which this chapter takes effect, the provisions thereof shall
be controlling within the corporate limits of the City of Huntington
Beach.

CMC Chapter 1, Section 101.1 is hereby amended to read as follows:
101.1 Title. This document shall be known as the
"Huntington Beach Mechanical Code," may be cited as such, and will
be referred to herein as "this Code."

The administrative provisions shall be as provided for in the
California Building Code, Chapter 1 Division II, Scope and Administration as adopted pursuant to Chapter
17.04 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code.
